Chamber Applauds Supreme Court Decision in Ford Rollover Case

Washington, DC--Steven J. Law, chief legal officer and general counsel for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, applauded today's decision by the U.S. Supreme Court which remanded the case Ford Motor Company v. Buell-Wilson to the lower court for further consideration:

"It's unfair to punish companies like Ford when they have met all applicable government and industry safety standards," said Law. "Today's Supreme Court decision sends a clear message by requiring the lower court to revisit its ruling in light of a recent decision on punitive damages in these kinds of cases."

NCLC, the public policy law firm of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is a membership organization that advocates fair treatment of business in the courts and before regulatory agencies. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
