The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has created a guide to help small businesses, independent contractors, and gig economy workers prepare to file for a coronavirus relief loan under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
WASHINGTON, D.C. —U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Thomas J. Donohue today applauded Congress and the administration for their responsive actions to help businesses stay open and pay their employees and reduce the potential of future layoffs.
Colleagues: Congress has approved $350 billion in emergency loans for small businesses to help them keep workers employed. In fact, if small businesses maintain or later restore their payrolls, they may not have to repay some — or possibly any — of the loan. A new study from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AmCham EU), “The Transatlantic Economy 2020,” confirms that the United States and Europe share the most integrated and economic partnership globally. Today, the relationship is being tested by the recent impact of the Coronavirus on supply chains and demand, persistent trade disputes, and uncertainty about the contours of the UK’s future economic relationship with the EU.
