Specifically, we applaud the President-elect’s focus on vaccinations and on economic sectors and families that continue to suffer as the pandemic rages on. We must defeat COVID before we can restore our economy and that requires turbocharging our vaccination efforts. WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) along with more than 140 national and local organizations today launched the “Build by the Fourth of July” campaign, urging newly elected and reelected members of Congress to enact a fiscally and environmentally responsible infrastructure package by the Fourth of July 2021.
The Employment and Training Administration rang in the new year by publishing half a dozen guidance documents pertaining to Unemployment Insurance (UI) programs addressed in the most recent COIVD relief package.
The U.S. Chamber issued the following statement on the passing of Sheldon Adelson, chairman and CEO Las Vegas Sands and prominent philanthropist: “Sheldon Adelson was an iconic business leader who exemplified the achievement of the American Dream in his life and work. From the humblest of beginnings, he built an enterprise and fortune that he readily shared with people in need and the causes he cared about.
Thomas J. Donohue, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement on Presidential Transition: “In eight days, President-Elect Biden will take office in the midst of a raging pandemic and an economic downturn that has left 10 million Americans out of work. These challenges require the full attention of the new administration and Congress, and a smooth transition of power.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - In the annual State of American Business speech today, U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Thomas J. Donohue outlined the path for a widespread economic recovery through a bold agenda of infrastructure investments, workforce reskilling, immigration reforms, and reinvigorating America’s global competitiveness. Additionally, he warned that excessive regulations and anti-competitive taxes would undermine the recovery.
In the face of significant challenges, including a global pandemic and an economic crisis, businesses have adapted to survive ... they have served their communities, and this country ... and they have put forward life-saving, world-changing solutions.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business organization representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy, established the Task Force to Eradicate Human Trafficking, an advisory group made up of members who work with the federal government and the private sector to develop commonsense solutions and speak with one voice.
