WASHINGTON, D.C.—An overwhelming majority of Venezuelan Americans, 80%, support U.S. companies operating in Venezuela, according to a new survey conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and APCO Insight. And 89% of Venezuelan Americans believe that U.S. companies will be critical to rehabilitating Venezuela’s economy when the political conditions change.
An overwhelming majority of Venezuelan Americans, 80%, support U.S. companies operating in Venezuela.
Great nations and their leaders seek a claim upon history. Whatever the outcome of the coming election, the president will be given the awesome responsibility to send Americans back into deep space. And this time, to stay.
The past month has been arduous for Coronavirus related negotiations. Numerous proposals have gone back and forth between Congress and the White House, but the goal of getting a bill done has yet to succeed. One piece of the negotiations has been federal aid to state and local governments to meet various needs, such as COVID tracing and testing, support for schools and childcare, and, the focus of this blog, assistance for states to tackle unemployment insurance (UI) fraud.
The United States in 2019 was the most energy secure it has been since 1970 according to data in the 2020 edition of the annual Index of U.S. Energy Security Risk published by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Energy Institute.
The 2020 edition of the Global Energy Institute’s (GEI) Index of U.S. Energy Security Risk incorporates the most recent historical and forecast data to assess the current and future state of U.S. energy security risk. The Index is made up of 37 different measures of energy security risk in nine categories: global fuels; fuel imports; energy expenditures; price and market volatility; energy use intensity; electric power sector; transportation sector; environmental; and basic science and energy research & development.1 The Index covers the historical period from 1970 to 2019 and a forecast period out to 2040.
