WASHINGTON, D.C.– To further its mission of advocating for policies that help America’s business owners grow the economy and strengthen communities, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Communications team announced today four new hires whose expertise and skills will help advance priorities critical to the business community.
“American businesses have demonstrated resilience and solutions throughout the pandemic. Our nation is now poised for a strong recovery and period of record growth, and we must ensure this,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce Chief Communications Officer Michelle Russo. “We are excited to welcome these top communicators to the Chamber and look forward to their help in further elevating and expanding the voices of America’s innovators, entrepreneurs, job creators, and community builders.”
Carrie Healey, Director of Media Relations and External Communications:Leveraging her experience as a former journalistand national spokesperson, Carrie will focus on advancing the Chamber’s employment, healthcare, and tax policy initiatives, as well as assist in developing a comprehensive political communications strategy. She previously worked for Rep. Donald Norcross on Capitol Hill, for Rep. John Delaney’s 2020 presidential campaign, and for multiple news outlets. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in Communications: Digital/Multimedia Journalism from Sacred Heart University.
Michelle Koepp, Senior Manager:Utilizing her background in political communication and international policy, Michelle will bolster the Chamber’s formidable national and global profile.She joins the Chamber from Capitol Hill where she served as Communications Director for Rep. Kay Granger and has previously held positions at the Department of Defense and the Department of State. Michelleholds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master’s degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
Richard Hartnett, Associate Manager:Joiningthe Chamber from Sen. Chuck Grassley’s office on Capitol Hill,Richard’s experience managing a broad legislative portfolio will help advance the Chamber’s domestic policy priorities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences from Iowa State University.
Tatiana Niang, Coordinator:Applying her experience in press and public diplomacy, Tatiana will contribute to the Chamber’s media relations team, as well as international policy initiatives. She has previously held positions at the Delegation of the European Union to the U.S. and UNICEF. Tatiana holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
