What We Do
Since our founding, the U.S. Chamber has advocated for policies that help businesses create jobs and grow our economy. Building on a strong legacy of trust and track record of success, we help today’s businesses start, grow, and thrive in a complex and constantly changing macro environment. We inform our members with timely policy analysis and legal advice, connect them with leaders in business and government through world-class events and intimate gatherings, and equip them with tools and resources to help them succeed. Above all, we serve as their ally and champion on Capitol Hill, in the courts, in the state houses, and in markets around the world. No matter who or where our members are, we are their seat at the table and voice in the debate.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, at its board meeting last week, awarded accreditation to 15 chambers of commerce for their sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on their communities.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors today elected Chris Lofgren, Ph.D., former president and CEO of Schneider National, headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, as chair for an 18-month term. Lofgren succeeds Maura W. Donahue, president of DonahueFavret Contractors Holding Company.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today thanked Maura W. Donahue, president of DonahueFavret Contractors Holding Company, headquartered in Mandeville, Louisiana, for her service as chair of the U.S. Chamber Board of Directors over the past two years. Today, Donahue also passed the gavel to incoming Chair Chris Lofgren.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement today on the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.“As well as being a most highly regarded and respected leader on the Supreme Court, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a fearless trailblazer, advocate, and at times, dissenter.
“Rep. John Lewis was an American hero, a trailblazing leader of the civil rights movement, and a tireless advocate of equality and economic empowerment as a long-serving member of Congress. America is a better country because of John Lewis, and we mourn his passing.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today welcomed five new executives to its Association Committee of 100 (C100). For more than 60 years, leading association executives have gathered under the banner of the U.S. Chamber’s C100 to network, build partnerships, and discuss current issues. These CEOs represent association members before the U.S. Chamber’s Board of Directors, enhance Chamber lobbying and coalition work, recommend programming, and strengthen outreach to the business and association communities.
