Washington, D.C. — U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley issued the following statement after Christine Wilson’s announcement that she will resign from the Federal Trade Commission.
"Commissioner Wilson’s was a voice of reason at a Federal Trade Commission often dominated by ideological agendas, and we thank her for her service. It is deeply unfortunate that the actions of her fellow commissioners have deprived her of the ability to do her job and faithfully enforce the rule of law.
“Her resignation letter makes clear that the Federal Trade Commission is in dire need of oversight. The American business community and consumers need an FTC that is transparent, accountable, and operates within the confines of the authority granted to it by Congress. Prompt confirmation of qualified nominees to the now two vacant commissioner seats is vital to that effort.”
