Karen Marangi is a senior member of RELX’s Federal Government Affairs team based in Washington, DC.  RELX is the parent company of both Elsevier, a leading scientific publisher serving the research and healthcare communities, and LexisNexis which provides legal, regulatory and business information to law firms, governments and other businesses.  Ms. Marangi oversees RELX’s IP and related policy work in the US and advocates for strong IP policies in international forums as well. Ms. Marangi and RELX also support policies that ensure continuing access to quality medical, scientific and legal news and information, key components of trustworthy AI.  

Prior to joining RELX, Ms. Marangi worked on and off Capitol Hill for over 20 years. She has advised and represented a range of clients before Congress and the White House while consulting at a leading public policy firm and a major DC-based law firm.  Ms. Marangi graduated from Stanford University and Stanford Law School.
