She served multiple roles in the chamber/association industry since the late 90’s. She first worked four years as Assistant Director for the Fort Hays State University Alumni Association in 1997, returning as Interim Director from 2020-2021. In 2009, she served two years as a board member before that same Chamber, the Hays Chamber of Commerce, hired her as their President/CEO.

Under her 8 year-direction, the Chamber was a 2013 ACCE Finalist for Chamber of the Year. She has also been asked to serve in Interim one-year roles leading the Colby/Thomas County Chamber of Commerce and the Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce. Tammy continues to serve these industries and more through her private business. She enjoys the challenge of leading organizations through transformational change.

She received her bachelor and master’s degree in communications, but she jokes she still is mastering the art of communicating. Tammy completed her Institute of Organization Management (IOM) recognition in 2014 and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) in 2016. A personal highlight was instructing at IOM in 2017 and 2018. For 15 years, she has also been an adjunct instructor for FHSU, teaching on-campus and virtual students.

In 2019, she was elected to a four-year-term for the local school board of education and served as its President from 2021-2022. Tammy lives in the Midwest with her husband, Gerard, a radio sports broadcaster, along with their son, Garrett, a college freshman.
