Vu Nguyen serves as an Attorney-Advisor for Enforcement in the Office of Policy and International Affairs (OPIA) at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he focuses on both domestic and international intellectual property enforcement issues. Since joining the USPTO in 2012, Vu has played a pivotal role, initially serving as a Patent Examiner with a specialization in computer graphics processing technologies. Later, he advanced to become a Primary Patent Examiner, responsible for overseeing patent applications in cutting-edge areas such as computer graphics, augmented reality, virtual reality, the metaverse, and artificial intelligence. Vu assumed the role of Attorney-Advisor on the OPIA's Enforcement Team during a detail from 2018 to 2019, before rejoining as a permanent team member in 2022. Additionally, he completed a detail at the USPTO's Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), where he assisted The Honorable Jameson Lee in formulating decisions on patentability issues in trial proceedings. 

Vu holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Puget Sound and a Juris Doctor from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.
