U.S. Chamber files amicus brief

NCLC joined a coalition of 15 trade associations and industry groups to file an amicus brief urging the D.C. Circuit to strike down new regulations promulgated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) that drastically alter the “hours of service” rules for commercial truck drivers. According to the amicus brief, the FMCSA violated the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) when it failed to adequately take into account the tremendous costs the new regulations will impose throughout the supply chain - shippers, carriers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and, ultimately, consumers.
