The U.S. Chamber urged the California Supreme Court to uphold the publication of the decision in Cohen v. DIRECTV, Inc. In Cohen, an appeals court refused to certify a proposed class that includes members who were not exposed to the alleged false advertising that forms the basis of the plaintiffs' claims under California's Unfair Competition Law (UCL). The Chamber argued that the decision should remain published and considered precedential because it clarified the UCL.
