Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts strikes ballot initiative that would have tied increased taxes to specific expenditures

The Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts ruled in favor of a legal challenge to a ballot initiative that would impose a tax on residents in Massachusetts earning more than $1 million per year. The Court held that the Attorney General, Maura Healey, was wrong to certify that the initiative properly belongs on the ballot.
