About Omar

Omar Garriott is a Tech Intrapreneur for Good, venture founder, and bestselling author. He is the Executive Director of the Batten Institute for Entrepreneurship, Technology and Innovation at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Prior to Darden, he was the Global Head (SVP/GM) of Education for Qualtrics--a $100M business--and previously led education product marketing for Salesforce, LinkedIn, Apple, and Adobe. In addition to his corporate bona fides, he is a teacher and mentor, having taught 3rd grade through Teach for America and advised students ranging from high schoolers to Executive MBAs on college and career transitions.

Omar also worked as a Career Coach at both UC-Berkeley Haas and the University of Virginia, was a reporter for Major League Soccer, and has been published in The New York Times, Forbes, and The Washington Post. He holds a B.S. in Commerce (with Distinction/Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Virginia and an MBA (concentration in Entrepreneurship) from the Haas School of Business at UC-Berkeley.
