The U.S. Chamber of Commerce sent the following coalition comments on the Addition of Certain PFAS to the TRI; Proposed Rule 89 Fed. Reg. 81776 (Oct. 8, 2024) to the EPA's Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention.

"Dear Dr. Freedhoff:

The undersigned organizations appreciate the opportunity to comment on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Proposed Rule, Addition of Certain Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) to the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) (Proposed Rule).1 EPA is proposing to add 16 individually listed PFAS, and 15 PFAS categories, to the TRI list of chemicals subject to reporting under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) and the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA). This Proposed Rule is part of EPA’s “whole-of-government” approach to addressing PFAS as outlined in its 2021-2024 PFAS Strategic Roadmap.2"
