USCC sent comments sharing significant concerns with several bills the HFSC is inquiring with Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) Chairman Jay Clayton to address during testimony before the “Capital Markets and Emergency Lending in the COVID-19 Era.” In particular, these bills would treat the private sector in a punitive manner and overlook the important contributions of businesses large and small to help fight the pandemic and to contribute to the economic recovery Americans expect.
