East Moline, IL – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Esther Joy King (R) to represent Illinois’ Seventeenth Congressional District. The Chamber endorses pro-business candidates for federal office who will vigorously support public policy that will advance economic growth, create jobs, and promote fiscal responsibility.
“The U.S. Chamber and our members are committed to supporting candidates for public office who champion job creators and the employees, families, and communities they serve. We know that strong leaders in Washington are critical to addressing economic challenges, accelerating our recovery, and promoting opportunity,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Suzanne P. Clark. “Esther Joy King has demonstrated a commitment to supporting free enterprise and the American business community through pro-growth solutions, and she has earned the political support of the business community. The U.S. Chamber is proud to endorse Esther Joy King, and we look forward to partnering with her in the next Congress.”
“Growing and supporting a thriving economy in Central, Western, and Northern Illinois is critical to strong communities, and I’m so thrilled to work with the U.S. Chamber to support businesses and the people of the 17th District,” said Esther Joy King. “Living across the river from Iowa, I know Illinois has a lot of work to do to change the trajectory of our state and incentivize people to stay here and recruit others to move here. This is an uphill battle for sure, but just because it’s a hard fight, doesn’t mean it’s not a fight worth fighting, and I look forward to being part of the change we need in Illinois. One issue that is not unique to Illinois is inflation. As we heard today during our tour of Anchor Lumber, the cost of construction projects has more than doubled what they were just a few years ago because of inflation and that’s leading to increase costs for consumers everywhere.”
