WASHINGTON, D.C. - Last night, the U.S. Chamber endorsed candidate, Tom Tiffany (R-WI-07), won the special primary election to represent Wisconsin's Seventh Congressional District with more than 57% of the vote. Ashlee Rich Stephenson, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President and National Political Director released the following statement after last night’s primary:
“Tom Tiffany is a proven leader when it comes to fighting for workers, job creators, and business growth. As a small business owner for over 20 years, Tiffany worked tirelessly to eliminate countless job-killing regulations in the state legislature and will continue that fight in Washington. The Chamber was proud to endorse Tom Tiffany’s candidacy, and congratulates him on his primary victory.”
The U.S. Chamber partnered with Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and Schuette Metals to host an endorsement event in Wausau. The U.S. Chamber had previously engaged in a television issue advocacy program supporting Tiffany’s work cutting regulations and encouraging him to fight for infrastructure legislation that will positively affect the timber industry.
The special general election will be held on May 12, 2020, where Tiffany will face Democrat Tricia Zunker.
