Joined by our friends at the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and the Michigan Farm Bureau, we recently hosted a tele-town hall attended by more than 8,000 Michiganders to talk about the future of the state and threats to economic growth and job creation, including the so-called Green New Deal.
The message was clear: if enacted, the Green New Deal would decimate Michigan’s manufacturing and agricultural industries while raising prices on working families and small businesses. Fewer jobs, higher prices: that is a bad deal for everyone.
Make no mistake, the people Michigan are as committed as anyone else to addressing climate change, but they believe the best way is American innovation. The home of iconic American companies, innovation is something Michiganders understand instinctively.
The only open question is whether Michigan will have a Senator that represents their views and is willing to work as tirelessly as they do to move Michigan forward. John James knows about working hard – whether it was in the Army or in his family business creating jobs right here in Michigan.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce was proud to endorse John James for Senate because Michigan and our nation need a Senator who knows what it takes to create good paying jobs, build strong communities, and keep us moving forward.
