ATLANTA, GEORGIA – Yesterday the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement (PAC-ADE), hosted a special edition of “Advance with Africa” in Atlanta. “Advance with Africa” is a national U.S. Chamber roadshow highlighting the vast trade and investment opportunities in Africa, a rapidly urbanizing and industrializing continent that will be home to 1 in 4 of the world’s citizens by 2050.

President of the U.S. Chamber’s U.S.-Africa Business Center Kendra Gaither said, “Since we launched Advance with Africa here in Atlanta in 2022, the program has engaged thousands of U.S. entrepreneurs seeking ways to scale their businesses through trading and investing in Africa. We’re excited about how this initiative is strengthening the U.S.-Africa economic relationship and thrilled to partner with members of the President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement, leaders of industry boasting decades of experience building cultural and business ties across Africa. Our partnership in convening this special edition of Advance with Africa underscores the vital role the private sector plays in reinforcing and driving the commercial relationship with the African continent.”

The Chamber’s partnership with PAC-ADE demonstrates the recognition from the highest levels of government of the value that the American business leaders who comprise the African diaspora bring to growing the U.S. economic relationship with the nations of Africa. Like past Advance with Africa events, the Atlanta roadshow was attended by hundreds of business owners, ranging from small business owners to corporate executives. Key dialogues included those on gaining the investor tools needed for business expansion into Africa, with speakers including past Advance with Africa attendees who have successfully done so, as well as Council Members of the President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement.

Through discussions, speeches, and panels with public and private sector leaders, Advance with Africa increases U.S. business owners’ understanding of commercial and investment opportunities in Africa. With its focus on engaging small- and medium-sized enterprises and Black-owned businesses, Advance with Africa creates equitable growth for American entrepreneurs and creators and transforms the narrative around Africa.
