WASHINGTON, D.C— The U.S. Chamber's U.S.-Pakistan Business Council (USPBC) announced the election of Steven Kobos, president and managing director of Excelerate Energy, as chairman-elect. Mr. Kobos will serve a two-year term, succeeding Dr. Mehmood Khan, former vice chairman of PepsiCo.
“The USPBC is pleased to welcome Steven Kobos as its new chairman,” said Myron Brilliant, executive vice president and head of International Affairs for the U.S. Chamber. "Excelerate Energy has a strong presence to the Pakistani market and Steven’s experience and leadership will be fundamental to the board’s mission to further expand economic opportunities for U.S. companies in the Pakistani market. There are many opportunities for our two countries to explore further cooperation, including in agriculture, consumer goods, energy, healthcare, and digital services.”
The board also elected vice chairman-elect Aamer Sheikh, chief financial officer & senior vice president Finance, Africa, Middle East & South Asia sector of PepsiCo for a two-year term, succeeding Zia Chishti, chairman and chief executive officer of The Resource Group.
