The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's U.S.-Turkey Business Council, together with its Women in Business Initiative co-chairs Umran Beba, Partner at August Leadership & Co-Founder at Beba Foundation, and Canan Özsoy, CEO, GE Turkey, and project partners STEMconnector, TurkishWIN's BinYaprak platform and TOBB recently launched STEMconnector’sMillion Women Mentors program in Turkey.

Million Women Mentors – Turkey is a key pillar of the U.S.-Turkey Business Council’s new Women in Business Initiative. The program aims to leverage the experience of prominent female leaders working for U.S. companies operating in Turkey to engender the next generation of women leaders in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. The program combines STEMconnector’s global expertise and TurkishWIN’s wide network of mentors and mentees in Turkey to connect private sector leaders with young women for mentorship opportunities in STEM via a digital platform.

Million Women Mentors, dubbed Milyon Kadına Mentor in Turkish, has a goal of establishing 1 million mentoring connections within 10 years. While the initiative serves female mentees, both male and female mentors are welcome.

The Women in Business Initiative will support women’s integration into Turkey’s workforce by leveraging the U.S. Chamber’s and the Council’s convening power. The Initiative will unite stakeholders from the public and private sectors, academia and civil society to convey best practices and develop policy recommendations to U.S. and Turkish governments.
