WASHINGTON, D.C. —Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for 21st Century Energy, issued the following statement today regarding the Army Corps of Engineers' decision to grant the final easement for the Dakota Access Pipeline:
“The Dakota Access Pipeline and other energy infrastructure projects will help deliver much-needed affordable energy to communities around the nation, ensuring good jobs and continued investment. The Army Corps of Engineers has been allowed to proceed with the recommendation that it reached in the first place, which is to grant the final easement and allow the pipeline to be built. We look forward to additional progress on critical energy infrastructure by the Trump administration.
“For the last several months, the Dakota Access Pipeline has been used as a political football by extreme ideologues who want America to stop using fossil fuels. Well, the Super Bowl is over, and it is time to end the games.”
