TO THE MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES SENATE:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce strongly supports the nomination of Paul Ray to be Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) in the Office of Management and Budget. The Chamber will consider including votes on this nomination in our annual How They Voted scorecard.
Mr. Ray’s credentials and experience related to regulatory oversight and in implementing regulatory Executive Orders make him an excellent choice for leadership of OIRA. As the associate administrator, Mr. Ray has overseen the implementation of government-wide policies in the areas of information collection, privacy, and statistical policy. In addition to previously serving as associate administrator of OIRA, he was a counselor to the Secretary of Labor and an accomplished litigator in private practice specializing in administrative law.
The Chamber strongly supports Mr. Ray’s nomination and urges his swift confirmation.
