Dear Representatives Kim, Crow, Phillips, and Stefanik:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce applauds your leadership for crafting and cosponsoring H.R. 7552, the “Golden-preneurship Act.” We look forward to working with you and your colleagues to help enact this bipartisan legislation.
The Golden-preneurship Act would recognize that more than one million older Americans lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and that business ownership may provide income opportunities for Americans over the age of 60.
This legislation builds on the advice and counseling resources provided by government resource partners, SCORE and America’s SBDC, that operate in a public-private partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. The Golden-preneurship Act would leverage that partnership to create a curriculum uniquely tailored for senior-owned small businesses and brings additional accountability and transparency to loans and grants provided to older Americans.
The Chamber supports the Golden-preneurship Act. We look forward to working with you to advance this important legislation.
Sincerely,
Neil L. Bradley
