To the Members of the United State Senate:

As the U.S. considers the nomination of Senator Kelly Loeffler to be Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce offers the following observations. As demonstrated during her confirmation hearing last month, Senator Loeffler is eminently qualified to lead SBA and to ensure the agency serves America's 33 million small businesses. We urge quick consideration by the full Senate of Senator Loeffler's nomination and look forward to working with her upon her confirmation.

In her confirmation hearing, Senator Loeffler testified that "every taxpayer dollar entrusted to the SBA should have an economic multiplier effect - delivering productive capital to grow manufacturing, strengthen rural communities, create jobs, and develop critical technology like AI and chips." Senator Loeffler said she will treat the SBA's empowerment of small businesses to support economic growth as the agency's north star. We wholeheartedly agree with those sentiments, and we applaud her commitment.

As the Chamber outlined as part of its Growth and Opportunity Imperative, it is critical that policymakers pursue an array of policies that collectively will help the United State return to sustained 3%+ economic growth. We believe that tax relief and regulatory reform will be critical in supporting that growth and are in complete agreement with Senator Loeffler's statements during her confirmation hearing advocating for regulatory relief and for reauthorizing the pro-growth provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Job Creation Act.

Lastly, we believe that SBA should work with the Chamber to bolster small businesses' familiarity with SBA resources through the Chamber's local, state, and regional chamber network and through the Chamber's channels and platforms. This is consistent with Senator Loeffler's stated emphasis on SBA's regional and district offices.

We look forward to working with the Senate and Senator Loeffler to support at stronger economy that will improve the lives of all Americans.

Sincerely,

Neil L. Bradley
