The U.S. Chamber of Commerce strongly supports H.R. 1799, the “PPP Extension Act of 2021,” and opposes any amendments that would derail the expeditious approval of this measure.
The short-term extension provided by the PPP Extension Act of 2021 has strong bipartisan support and is a responsible way to ensure that small businesses have appropriate access to the Paycheck Protection Program as we near the end of the pandemic. A short extension of the PPP deadlines will make sure that small businesses are not prematurely denied the ability to access the loans they need to remain ongoing concerns and employers.
The Chamber appreciates the work of Congress to assist the business community through the pandemic and to target aid to small businesses. We urge quick passage today.
