GETTYSBURG, PA – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Gettysburg and Adams County hosted U.S. Representative John Joyce (R-PA-13) for a roundtable discussion in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with local business leaders on the need to extend pro-growth business tax provisions before portions of President Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) expire at the end of the year. Doing so will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

Absent Congressional action, the country will see the largest automatic tax increase in American history. U.S. Representative John Joyce is on the frontlines, working to ensure that the constituents of Pennsylvania’s 13th District will not face this massive tax increase at the end of 2025.

“The U.S. Chamber thanks Congressman Joyce for his leadership in ensuring that the pro-growth policies enacted in the TCJA continue to benefit all Americans,” said Rodney Davis, Head of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “All policy is local, and by taking the conversation around tax reform outside of Washington, DC, and directly to Gettysburg is a testament to his commitment to advocating for families and businesses throughout Pennsylvania’s 13th congressional district.”

"President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017 ushered in a new era of economic growth and prosperity for all Americans, especially our Main Street small businesses," said Congressman John Joyce, M.D. "As a former small business owner, I know just how critical these provisions are to empowering our job creators and allowing them to flourish and innovate, and I stand ready to work with my colleagues in the House and with President Trump to extend the pro-job, pro-growth, and pro-America provisions of this 2017 law."

"We value the opportunity to bring our member businesses together with Congressman Joyce and his team,” said Carrie Stuart, President of the Chamber of Gettysburg and Adams County. “It's essential for him to hear firsthand how the current tax provisions are affecting their operations and the potential challenges they could face if these deductions aren’t extended beyond 2025."

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables and business tour are the latest effort in its  Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. These events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
