The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports H.R. 8673, the “Expanding Partnerships for Innovation and Competitiveness (EPIC) Act.”
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is critical to supporting American innovation through promoting the development of voluntary consensus standards, conducting measurement science, and fostering emerging technologies, such as AI, quantum, and advanced semiconductors.
The EPIC Act would establish the Foundation for Standards and Metrology, a public-private partnership to leverage expertise from the federal government, academia and industry to advance NIST’s mission in supporting U.S. global economic competitiveness and technological leadership.
