WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley today issued the following statement upon final passage of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, legislation reauthorizing the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act:
“For our economy to continue to grow, U.S. workers and students must continue to learn and acquire the skills they need to succeed.
“We applaud Congress for overwhelmingly voting to pass the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, better-aligning skills development programs with the needs of today’s students and job creators. Because of this legislation, career and technical education programs will continue to help students succeed in the workforce of today and learn the skills for the workforce of tomorrow.
“This successful, bipartisan effort is a significant achievement for America’s workers – a key ingredient of the free enterprise system.”
